Brief screening for addiction and mental health issues and referral to most appropriate services and supports. Addiction counselors and mental health clinicians available. 


Family Resource & Crisis Centre


Provides a confidential service primarily to those who have experienced family violence. Assists in access to basic needs and runs a safe house/shelter for women & children fleeing domestic abuse. 

Lorne's Blanket

Transitional housing for men


Offers transitional housing 

for 6-9 months for homeless men. The facility is a drug and alcohol free living environment with a focus on life skills through a support program that is developed with each individual.

Tenille's Hope

Soup Kitchen


Tennille’s Hope is a “Hand Up not a Hand Out” organization that supports individuals and

families experiencing social &

financial hardships.

There is no cost to the guest. Every meal is made with the donations of community members.

Life Medical Clinic

Walk in clinic


Provides a walk-in clinic on Fridays for homeless and at-risk people, addiction support, suboxone program, pharmacotherapy as well as

mental health support. 

Run by Dr. Joseph Ojedokun.


Children & Family Services


Provides FASD (fetal alcohol syndrome) support, foster care, family supports for children with disabilities, family intervention, safe visitation, shared living for people with disabilities.

McCullough Centre

Sober living for men


Runs  a 6–12 month sober living program (with a possibility of extension) for homeless men, 18-65 with addictions and/or mental health issues. Those receiving Income Support will have medical coverage.

Offers a range of supports and services to anyone 

residing in North Central Alberta. Leads child care & intervention, early childhood development, foster & kinship care, adoption, and improvements for children & youth.

Victim Services


Creates an unbiased and supportive environment for those dealing with the aftermath of loss, tragedy or crime. We provide emotional support, information, practical assistance, and

facilitation in navigating the court system. 

Alberta Works

Income & Employment Support


Financial support, employment services and career resources. Provides connections to benefits & 

services for: seniors,

disabilities, low income, bullying, family violence, homelessness, etc.

Mental Health Services

referrals to other professional or community agencies when appropriate.

Whitecourt Family Violence Initiative

New Hope Adult Course


20 week course for both men & women to help revitalize relationships, build positive connections & enhance communication

10 week program to support children who have witnessed family violence or live in a home where it occurs. Helps them identify & express feelings in a non-violent way.

The FVI is a stakeholders group in Whitecourt, Alberta. It began in 2004 with the mandate that it is necessary to reduce the incidence of family violence through awareness, support, referral and intervention.
